Over the last several years, we who love the Canaan Dog have been extremely pleased to see the progress of the breed internationally. The breed is now fully accepted by all the world's kennel clubs as a recognized breed, and there are breeders and fanciers all over the world. There is a growing interest in the Canaan Dog, both as a pet and as a show and working dog, and breed clubs have been established in a number of countries. The importance of breeders and fanciers working together for the good of the breed is clear to us all, and this has been made even more obvious at the two international conferences on the breed that were held this year, one in England and one in Italy. In order to make it possible for Canaan Dog lovers all over the world to stay in contact, exchange ideas and information, and continue cooperating with each other, we have decided to establish a quarterly magazine devoted exclusively to the Canaan. The magazine will contain articles specifically relating to the Canaan Dog - temperament, health, training, breeding, showing, adventures, stories, and anything else you want to hear about our unique breed, as well as show reports from all over the world, achievements of Canaans in other fields - obedience, agility, tracking, therapy, or anything else that the Canaans participate in, and announcements of litters. Clubs can contribute regular columns, so we can keep up to date on what is happening in other countries. In addition, readers will be encouraged to write letters with questions about anything that concerns the Canaan - behavior or training, breeding, health - whatever is of concern to you, and to write letters with comments, stories, experiences, ideas, suggestions....use your imagination! Breeders will be able to advertise their litters and stud dogs and get to the specific market that is interested. The magazine will be published with articles translated into four languages, so everyone will be able to read it and enjoy everything - English, German, French, and Italian.
